Title: DEVELOPMENT OF GAME FOR PSP WITH A UNIQUELY SINGAPORE STYLE
Authors: Ismail, Kamarudin
Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: This project aims to create a game with a Uniquely Singapore style on an international game platform, the Playstation Portable (PSP). The Sony Corporation is the developer of the successful Playstation game console. The report will briefly introduce the Sony Corporation and the success of the PSP. Singapore will then be introduced and the Uniquely Singapore campaign will be analysed. The Housing Development Board (HDB) blocks are an integral feature of living in Singapore; therefore they are selected as the main feature to promote the concept of Uniquely Singapore. Research also reflected that the heartlands are not heavily promoted in the Uniquely Singapore campaign. This project will share how the heartlands are a unique feature of Singapore and that both Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans can relate to it. The process of programming a game which has a Uniquely Singapore style for the PSP will also be discussed. Beta testing, usability testing and user testing was conducted at various phases of the game development. Throughout the testing processes, evaluations and refinements took place throughout. The final product is a game which aims for the players to be brought to the heartlands and at the same time learn more about the various killer litter.
